Frequently Asked Questions

In your first session, we’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any concerns you might have. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know each other and establish a safe, trusting environment. We’ll also talk about the therapeutic process and how we can work together to address your needs.
-
Typically, therapy sessions are 50 minutes long with the last ten minutes of the hour reserved for the therapist to schedule your next session and complete documentation. How often we meet depends on your needs and goals, but most clients find that weekly or bi-weekly sessions are helpful, especially in the beginning. We’ll discuss the frequency that feels best for you during our first meeting.

Therapy can be a helpful tool if you’re feeling stuck, experiencing emotional pain, or seeking personal growth. It’s also useful for addressing specific concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, or relationship issues. If you're uncertain, the first session can help you decide if therapy feels like a good fit.

Yes, I work with Alma and Headway for billing, which allows you to submit claims through your insurance. Alma or Headway will provide you with an estimate of your costs before our first session, but it’s your responsibility to confirm coverage and out-of-pocket expenses directly with your insurer.
-
If you don’t have insurance or are out of network, I offer a self-pay option. Alma (billing service) will process the payment after each session. You will receive an invoice for your records. I do have limited sliding scale openings available; inquire if needed.

If at any point you feel that therapy isn’t meeting your needs, we can discuss it openly. I’m here to ensure that the therapy process works for you, and we can adjust the approach, frequency, or even consider a referral if needed. Your comfort and progress are my priority.
